“That was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he remarked. “The action was inadvertently performed. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
